Stolen car followed by stolen fuel, Ooralea

A car thief’s dreams came true when they found a white 2011 Ford Ranger utility (registration number¬†756 XFN) unlocked with the keys left in the ignition parked at the rear of an address in Monash Way, Ooralea.

It was stolen shortly after 9pm on July 14. At 10am on July 16, the stolen car has been driven to a service station on Nebo Road in West Mackay.  After the driver (image above taken from CCTV) filled the car with 70 litres of fuel, the service station was left with no effort made to pay for the fuel.

Police strongly advise residents not to leave their unattended cars unlocked or with car keys left in the ignition.
